Renato Isaías, the CEO and founder of True Financial Freedom,

learned valuable lessons in the financial world through his own experiences

and mistakes.

During the real estate boom of the early 2000s, Renato made the decision to

invest in real estate. For several years, like many investors, he paid extra toward

the mortgage principal of his rental properties, hoping to pay off the loans faster

and build equity.

​

However, when the 2008 real estate crash hit, the landscape changed drastically.

Most of Renato’s tenants stopped paying rent, while the banks continued sending

mortgage statements. Despite his efforts to pay down the principal, none of his

advance payments were applied to cover the income shortfall. As a result,

he lost five properties.

​

This experience taught Renato an important lesson: the need to diversify

his investments and take control of his financial future, rather than relying on

the banks. Motivated by this realization, he became a licensed Registered Financial Advisor, driven by the desire to help others achieve the true financial freedom he had once dreamed of.
